I am looking for a procedure to follow that I can use to maintain multiple users workspace to a standard. As users add symbols to a project, how are the tool palettes updated for all users without going to each user, opening the tool pallet, properties and adding the new symbol. This is cumbersome and will lead to users not being able to take advantage of new symbols. We have tryed to export and import menus but it only seems to mess things up.
Store the tool palette in the server and path autocad to look in the server. The only thing you wont get is maintaining palette group because palette group is stored inside each user profile.
I am attaching a whitepaper for AutoCAD P&ID 2009, but it is still applicable up to and including the latest version of AutoCAD P&ID.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
Is this still this same with PID 2012?
I made groups on my computer, copied the toolpalettes to the server and all groups are gone.
Also for me...
Groups does not get copied. It can only be imported or exported because it it stored in user profile
