how to create several P&IDs from one existing file?

I am trying to create several P&IDs from one existing file.

I created a project. I created a drawing ("master") in the project with some components and lines and annotated them. I created two wblocks from that master drawing. I removed that drawing. I closed the project. I reopened it and added two blank drawings. The data manager showed no classes and no component info. I inserted the wblocks. The data manager still showed no classes and no component info. I exploded the wblocks in each drawing and the tag info changed into “?”. Is there a way to create several drawings from one drawing and keep all the tag information?

I have posted this question to the subscription center helpdesk also.

See the notes that Jorge Lopez left yesterday about why this is happening.

It will be better in P&ID 2009, but it will still put append a ? on the end
of the tag.

I think you can get this to work with a somewhat convoluted mechanism.

1) You have a drawing A in Project X.
2) You make a copy of the entire drawing using Windows. Call it drawing B.
3) You add Drawing B to Project Y.
4) You remove all the parts of Drawing A that you want in Drawing B
5) You remove all the parts of Drawing B that are still in Drawing A
6) Add Drawing B into Project X.

I haven't tried this, but I talked to the programmer and she sees no reasons
why this won't work.

Also, I'm guessing that you're working with one of our TSEs on this problem.
I'll copy her on this too, so she knows what I'm proposing.
