Is there any way to select objects within Data Manager and delete them in one fell swoop? If not, please add this as a wish list item!
I think I’m following you here. Is this what you have in mind? From the Data Manager, select either Current Drawing Data view or P&ID Project Data and then be able to select multiple items in the Manager (perhaps holding the Ctrl key while selecting) then hit Delete and the corresponding objects are all removed from the drawing or the entire project.
If that’s what you have in mind, it sounds interesting. But P&ID doesn’t have that ability (currently). I did play with this and was able to make the multiple selection (“one fell swoop”) of say …Equipment. When in the Current Drawing Data view, then the same equipment is of course highlighted in the drawing. But it’s not actually selected in the drawing so hitting erase doesn’t erase the group (maybe just one object). Further limitations of this are…even with a multiple selection of equipment, if you then jump to another category such as Lines, you lose the previous selection (so much for one fell swoop). And then in the P&ID Project Data view, multiple selections could really get confusing, making sure you’re selecting the right things…
Anyway, I think it could be useful functionality. As far as making it a wish list item, it’s probably better coming directly from you rather than from an Autodesk employee such as myself. If you would like, please suggest this directly at this link:
