Duct take-off

Please revise how you place a take-off on the side of a duct. I some how
manage to place the fitting, but am not sure how I did it, and it never
shows up on the side I want or in the proper direction. This is a very
cumbersome task and needs serious revisions.

Hi Aaron -

Could you explain how you would like it to work?

Jason,

I talked with my reseller about this issue and he claims that in the
industry we do not show 45 degree take-offs, just plain 90 deg taps. I
disagree. I have been designing air systems for over 15 years and 45 degree
take-offs are desirable for improved air flow. The software will create 45
deg. take-offs but the process does not make sense. Try it out...

Thanks,

Aaron

I disagree too; it is necessary (and as far as I'm aware of) still happens in the industry to use 45 deg takeoffs.
However it would be nice to not see the extra stuff that shows if you need to place a tap coming out of a transition.

It would also be very nice if we could get a round take-off with a balancing damper instead of having them as two seperate parts.

I also would like to see it easier to place take-offs in plan view. The ability to specifically indicate what side of the duct to add the take-off would be nice, e.g. top, bottom, right, or left (I don't want to have the hassle of changing to a 3-d view to do this!).

When placing the rectangular duct beveled tap, it would be nice to have the side of the bevel more easily located (e.g. via the rotation rather than having to mess with the Y rotation or based up the flow that has been determined by the main duct)

Thanks
