Tool Palettes personalization

Hello, I work with AutoCAD MEP on 2 different computers. I have my shared files for both programs through an external hard drive so that I have pointed customization directories to that external hard drive. Apparently everything works fine, templates, blocks, systems, etc. but I can not get the tool palette to work.

If I add a Tag eg work computer, I can not get it to open the home computer is updated with the tool palette Tag I added that on the other computer.

Can anyone tell me what is happening? In the configuration of AutoCAD MEP is a directory referring to Tool Palettes but apparently not enough to match that directory on both computers.

Thank you very much!

Hi,

Palette is a special tool, contains three types of files - bmp, xml and link to dwg files.

Therefore, you must first publish the palette to move or copy to another pc.

Additionally, I use "Dropbox" software and very satisfied 😉

Hello!, I don't understand what you say about publish Tool catalog, how can I do it?

First, I have the same Tool Palette File Location trough Options/Files.

If I create a new Palette, I can use it in both computers but the organization in Palette Groups are different. Do you know why?

Thanks a lot!!

palette using unique identifiers - GUID, so the the same path names do not matter,

Use "Publish" for mov or copy palette on other PC

see/ fig.1

Publish-1.gif

1.Сору your palette from work computer on usb flash

2. Insert in Home computer

3. Run MEP Catalog

4. Use Publish command as shown in fig.1

5. Select one of the three options

And use help

PS

All of these steps can be skipped if you use Dropbox
