Question on compatibility

My copy just arrived.
Reviewing the book I've noticed that there is no word on compatibility.
Please advise on following:

Can ABS 2004 co-exist with S8/R14?
Are drawing created in ABS3 compatible with ABS 2004?
Are mv-parts created with ABS 3 compatible with ABS 2004?
How to transfer my custom-made automatic object tags to ABS 2004?
Can I preserve my toolbar setup? Not a big deal, buyt it is a day or two of
solid work to get it to my taste.
I would appreciate an advice.
Thanks
sp

It isn't officially supported and hasn't been tested, but I can't think of
any reason that it shouldn't work.

Yes, drawings from ABS3 should work fine in ABS 2004

> Are mv-parts created with ABS 3 compatible with ABS 2004?

Yes, MvParts created with ABS 3 should work fine in ABS 2004

You should be able to copy the .dwg files associated with your custom made
tags to the new design center content location and they should work.

Probably not easily. When you see the new interface you will see some
significant changes, like the fact that there aren't very many toolbars...
It may be possible to "upgrade" the menu files, but it wouldn't be simple.

Overall, Jason is right. However, you may run into difficulty with respect
to tagging and scheduling. Objects in Autodesk Building Systems 2004 are
further classified than they were in ABS 3. You have the ability to apply
property sets specifically to a fan instead of to all MvParts. So, you will
need to review the the associated property sets and schedule tables to
ensure that they still work as expected. Additionally, ABS 2004 does not
use the file AecbPropertySetDefs to store the property set definitions.
Each property set definition is stored in the tag itself. If you previously
stored your property set definitions in that drawing you will need move them
to the tag dwg.

I hope this helps!
