Plot Stamp Setup

Hello,

I am wondering if it is easy/possible to create a plot stamp to automatically insert the date into our sheets. We currently have to edit the text on each sheet before we can publish the drawings and it seems like a complete waste of time to me.

see attached for where i am trying to put the date stamp

That's Super Simple. Here's how:

  1. Within your text field (Dtext, Mtext, or Attribute, doesn't matter), right click where you want the date to automatically populate. Click on Insert Field.
  2. In the Field Category pull-down, select Date & Time.
  3. Under Field Names, select Plot Date.
  4. In the Examples list, chose a pre-defined format. Or, create your own using the hints. Click OK when finished.

Since you chose Plot Date, the value won't show until the plot is created. Not even a preview will show.

I also use fields for Drawing Location and linking a Paper Space Layout Name to the drawing number (Category: Other, Field Name: SystemVariable, SystemVariable: ctab).
