Parametric MvPart not resizable

I created a simple Parametric Switchboard that I can size on the fly when I insert the part into my drawing. However, once I've inserted the object, I can't modify/change the size. I have 2 dimensions, and one modifier (extrusion) used to define the height. I use the "Part Filter" tab to size my part with no problems. It prompts me during insertion that the part size does not exist, and asks if it should create it. I select yes, and the part is built. I assumed that being parametric, it would allow me to adjust the size by selecting "Part Modify", and thus allow me to change the size. The dialog box comes up, and put dimensions, but the part remains static. Is this a limitation of the program? Or is there a constraint that prevents me from changing the size?

2012 MEP ?... or other...

We had this problem also... but found that mvparts need to have at least one connector before you can resize it.

A limitation I wish did not exist.
