Object Enabler issue

When a user opens an ABS3 drawing (or x-ref's one into thier drawing) and
they have the object enabler for ABM/ABE2 they crash.

I know that everyone will want system info, but we have ADT3.3, LDT3,
ACAD2002, and just about every plug-in that you might want to imagine.

All of the machines are Dell's (of various configurations) running on a
Novell network (client version 4.81) on the Windows 2000 platform.

Anyone have a fix other than run out and uninstall the old then reinstall
the new. This issue was unexpected and we have a significiant number of
machines that we have to install on.

Since the original object enabler wasn't pushed out we can't uninstall it
that way...

You will need the latest service packs installed for ADT3.3 and probably LDT3. From experience adt3.3 will crash with BS3 drawings without service pack 2. I would also install the BS3 object enabler on the machines.

Yea, I know that I'll need to install the new
object enabler (and that I'll have to uninstall the old one first) to enable
true compatibility between disciplines, I just wasn't aware that uninstalling
the old enabler was a requirement just to OPEN an ABS3 drawing. Now I
have a hundred machines to get to...

The service pack 2 may solve some other issues (I
get proxies for ABS3 objects even with the enabler).

Anyone for a vote? Let's do away with enablers and
have them built in and/ or addressed with service packs that (additionally) do
not require uninstalling older versions first.

Sorry, had to complain a bit...

Do I get to vote???

We would love to include our object enablers in Base AutoCAD, but we've had
3 releases since AutoCAD has had a release. That makes it hard to include
everything that we are going to do in R3, six months before we release
R1...

Apologies on having to uninstall all your existing OE's before installing
the new ones. Hopefully we can make it easier on you in the next release???

Jason,
The uninstall portion is my biggest concern...
With 90 stations to have to visit in person each time that one of the
programs have a new rev, It gets tedius.

My point is that instead of telling us that we need to:
-uninstall an enabler (multiple in the case of core ACAD machines ADT30 and
ABM/E2) (which sometimes aren't even available for uninstall in Add/Remove
programs), install a service pack (or two), then Install new enablers
(multi...). On Each of 90 machines, In person (just in case one version of
the installer doesn't work on this specific machine)-

It would be nice if we were only directed to:
-Install a new service pack. (that we could silently deploy)
