MEP2013 Pipe Rise/Drop Symbols - Trim

I can't work out how to get the pipe to trim to the edge of the rise/drop symbol in single line display mode. I've tried setting it to scale to annotation, scaling up the size of the rise/drop block. The only one that seems to work, is a rising elbow out of a take-off. What is the trick to getting this to trim properly? Thanks

My solution - change the display representation from single line display mode to plan, then set the pipe system style to show as single line graphics. Strange, but this works.
