Has anybody else tried to create a MVPART thru a pre-defined block and add duct or pipe connections and have Autocad crash on you? Please see the attached image that shows the error message I receive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Did you create a solid and then block it? Or is the block used for this block base MvPart, a wireframe block? Should start as a solid. Not sure that this would cause the fatal error. Have you tried making the part on a different workstation? If it crashed on a different workstation, it may be the part. If not, it may be something uniqwue to the original workstation. Maybe some bad support files. Have you tried a repair or reinstall?
Hope This Helps,
Joshua

A repair will not delete your custom parts. A reinstall "could" if you are keeping the part files in same folders as AutoCAD MEP. C:\Program Files; C:\ProgramData; C:\Users\<Profile>\AppData\Local or Roaming. \Autodesk\AutoCAD MEP 2013. Save your mvpart's dwg, bmp and xml files off to the side. Then do a reinstall.
I checked it on another workstation and it did not crash at all. I will try a repair first then an reinstall if that doesn't work. Can you give me more detail on how to keep my custom database before I go about reinstalling MEP?
I just did a repair and I lost all my customization. The program still crashed after the repair. I will try to re-install and see if that works.
Update....
I did a full re-install yesterday. I was able to use the edit duct placement instead of the table properties. As of this morning, when I start MEP 2013 it crashes when I try to use the edit duct placement. Any ideas??????
Update...
I recevied an email from Josh and followed the steps that was provided to me. As of right now, I am able to use the edit duct placement. I will keep you guys informed to how long this works or until it breaks again.
Thanks for the help. I forward to my tech support guy at ADvanced Solutions as well so he can help others users like myself.
I received instructions from Josh about doing a "clean" uninstall and re-install. I followed the steps and was able to edit duct placement graphically. The next day, after I shut the machine off, and began to edit duct placement on a part, the system crashed again. I do not want to go thru the lengthy procedure everytime just to be able to edit duct placement on a mvpart I have created. Any more ideas????
Thought I would put an update on this forum thread: I have been working direct with Patrick on the side. We resolved his issue. When the command line in 2013 is closed, and you go to add connectors to the mvpart inside content builder, it crashes. We found that when the command line is on and visible, Content Builder does not crash when placing connectors on a new block based mvpart. That's the short-term solution. Our developers are working to address this for a long-term solution. Others may run into this crash and thought this may help.
