Lost object tracking

I seem to have lost the ability to object track. It is showing on in the
system tray. Hover over a longer length of time does nothing. Is there a
switch I'm unaware of?

When I first started using BS it was so sensitive it would pick up a dozen
points just mousing over an area, now, not so much....well, nothing at all
actually...

Has the "Shift to acquire" option been turned on somehow? Can you track a snap if you hit shift while hovering over it?

"Yes," the operator said, somewhat sheepishly, "that's it."

Thanks
