This is AutoCAD MEP 2012... I understood that there is a rectangular flex connector but I cannot seem to find how to model it. I guess it would be a fitting if it was there.
Can someone give me a leg up?
There is no rectangular flex connector out of the box. If you go to the content builder and select duct from the dropdown and then expand round and then duct you will see
Round duct US Imperial
Round Corrugated Flex Ducts US Imperial
If you do the same for Rectangular Duct you will see\
Rectangular Duct US Imperial
There is no Rectangular Flex Duct.
I have failed in the past trying to create new types of flex duct. So I am not quite sure on how to go about it. I am pretty sure that just copying the flex duct xml and modifying it will not get the end result we are looking for.
I would like to see round flex duct with a oval connector on one end. As it is now, i have to place a round to oval connector that has a length of 0.0001. It is quite cumbersome. I have not come across the need of a rectangular flex duct as of yet.
Duct and pipe connectors support both standard and flex connections in the application
From help.
To start a flex duct or pipe, simply hold control to change the command.
Is this what you are looking for?
