How do we install and use both imperial and metric content?

Depending on different projects we have a need to use both imperial and metric content for ABS 3.

During the installation of ABS3 you are prompted by default to install imperial content. I changed this setting and installed both imperial and metric content. When I launched ABS 3 it defaulted to imperial content. I then changed this to metric through the options dialog box.

When I make the change to metric I still can only insert imperial content. What am I missing here?

Thanks!

Rick

Hi Rick -

The setting that I "think" you changed in options only controls some of the
content. You'll need to modify your catalogs to also point to metric
content.

To do this launch building systems, and go into the options dialog. Scroll
way over to the right and you should see a tab that says Building Systems
Catalogs. There you will need to change the catalog path for each of the
Catalogs. By default all of the catalogs are set to Imperial. If you browse
"up" a folder in each of them you should be able to select US Metric.

Rick -

If you don't want to keep switching the catalogs, you can create a new
autocad profile that will do it for you. Go to the Options, Profiles tab.
Select Building Systems 3. Select the Add to the List (which means in ADT
speak: create a copy of the selected profile). Name the new profile
Building Systems 3 Metric. Make sure it is your current profile, then go to
the Building Systems Catalogs tab and select the metric catalogs. Now,
switch profiles to Building Systems 3 and make sure the catalogs are set to
imperial version. Now, if you need all the imperial catalogs, change the
profile to Building Systems 3 and if you need metric then change the profile
to Building Systems 3 Metric.

I hope this helps.
