If you don't want to keep switching the catalogs, you can create a new
autocad profile that will do it for you. Go to the Options, Profiles tab.
Select Building Systems 3. Select the Add to the List (which means in ADT
speak: create a copy of the selected profile). Name the new profile
Building Systems 3 Metric. Make sure it is your current profile, then go to
the Building Systems Catalogs tab and select the metric catalogs. Now,
switch profiles to Building Systems 3 and make sure the catalogs are set to
imperial version. Now, if you need all the imperial catalogs, change the
profile to Building Systems 3 and if you need metric then change the profile
to Building Systems 3 Metric.
