How do I add a rise to my plumbing indicating...

that it simply goes up.
all I want is a circle on the end of it.
this run goes to another floor that shows on another drawing.

Is there a dwg included in ABS that has plumber rise drop styles other
than standard?

AFAIK there are no additional rise drop styles included anywhere.

You can get close to the affect you are looking for by editing the rise drop
styles (there's still a small "tick" inside the circle). Just create a new
system for that "portion" and create a new rise/drop style with both the
rise and the drop being a circle.

To get the graphic draw some pipe, change the elevation and then use the
pcon snap to click in the same place on the end of the pipe. This will get
you a rise/drop graphic without the segment.

Mike -

If editing the rise/drop style doesn't get you what you want, then you could
make a schematic fitting or symbol that does the same thing. You would need
to place it manually, however. Making these fittings or symbols is easy -
you need to draw the symbol first in the source drawing (such as Plumbing
Fittings.dwg), then run through the Schematic Fitting or Schematic Symbol
style UI.

I hope this helps.

AFAIK ??????
How do others do this?... its a everyday task.
So I have to change to a different system to do this?
Honestly! Why is there an overwhelming plethora (seem to get added to daily),
of simple common tasks made complex, difficult and time consuming by this
time-saving state-of-the art software?

I tried at length to make a different rise drop style with a view block with
just a circle with no "tick".
I did it but then the circle was elongated into an elipse when it got used.

As another voice crying in the darkness that is this software, I just want to say that I share your frustration. I am not very impressed with the plumbing module, nor are the other people I work with here. I have gone to using the piping module for domestic plumbing drafting. At least there I can simply change the elevation to get a rise. However, I may need to change the flow direction to get a rise instead of a drop. This also gets my building piping and plumbing look consistent. Another person I work with has taken the approach of drawing a few lines to get the layers set up then explodes them until they are just lines. That way he can add rises and drops and break the crossing pipes without getting the ticks at the end of the pipes. I also considered going back to a machine with Softdesk 8 and copying the LISP routines for drawing plumbing. Again, I question why some of the things that worked well in S8 are completely gone. Just my two cents of venting.

Hi Mike

There is an easy way to add a rise/drop symbol on the end of the pipe.
Select the schematic pipe, right click and select Schematic Pipe Properties.
Go to Details tab.
Rise/Drop Elevation Overrides, check End and specify an elevation value that
is larger than the elevation of the pipe (or smaller if you want a drop).

Thanks
