Electrical J-Box Representation

Our office uses a ceiling j-box grid, 25'x25' spacing, each with 3 circuits.
These circuits are then used to feed modular furniture as needed. All Circuits may not be used.
If I try to insert a J-box Device it only allows me to enter 1 circuit. If I try and insert a J-Box MvPart it comes in as a vertical representation. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Jmcfaddn

Hi Jody -

You can edit the device j-box to have additional electrical connectors.
Right click the j-box and select Edit Device Style, go to the connectors
page and add some connectors (make sure that they aren't all in the exact
same place).

I did this, but it took all of my junction boxes and put three connectors on it. How do I make it so only the junction box I am working on has three connectors?

bjenks,

When you added connectors to your junction box style, it changed all junction boxes of the same style. To add connectors to just the one junction box, you can copy the style in style manager and use the new style for the junction box that should have three connectors. Then you can delete the connectors you added to the original style.

Hope that helps,
Eric

I would also like to be able to assign a load to the J-Box in these applications.

To assign a load to a J-Box, add a connector to the device style and give it a system type of Power and Lighting. You can only assign a load to a connector with a Power and Lighting system type.

That my friend is one of the best tips I ever got on this site and I was asking about a different question. I wish there was a tips section for people to only put tips without anything else.
