I came across a problem yesterday when trying to add a 200Ø shoe branch take-off from a 355Ø header duct.
The boot didn't seem to attach to the duct correctly. It looked like the shoe wasn't even touching the duct!
It seemed to do this no matter what size either duct was.
I starting to check the UK content files located here:
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\MEP 2012\enu\MEPContent\UK\Ductwork\Round\Branches
I found out that it seems some bod at Autodesk had placed a copy of the drawing and the bmp file in this location and modified the DW144 Round Duct Shoe Branch Takeoff_UKM.XML file for testing perposes and didn't bother to put it back!
After modifying the XML file to point to the proper locations of the drawing and image it now work as expected.
Anyone else seeing this? I have checked this on to installations and they are both the same.
I've been seeing it! I thought I was going mad. Thanks to you, I've fixed it and raised an SR notifying them.
I wonder if they get paid the same money as professionals?
It seems the fix for this is:
Delete the .dwg and .bmp from:
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\MEP 2012\enu\MEPContent\UK\Ductwork\Round\Branches
Edit "DW144 Round Duct Shoe Branch Takeoff_UKM.xml" as follows (or, overwrite with the attached XML)
Replace:
Round\Branches\DW144 Round Duct Shoe Branch Takeoff_UKM.bmp
with:
BMP\DW144 Round Duct Shoe Branch Takeoff_UKM.bmp
Replace:
Round\Branches\DW144 Round Duct Shoe Branch Takeoff_UKM.dwg
with:
DWG\DW144 Round Duct Shoe Branch Takeoff_UKM.dwg
You will likely also need to CATALOGREGEN after making this change.
Also, I've attached a screenshot of before and after.
Hopefully this addresses the issue for those that run into it. If not, please post back.
