Duct or part modify speed

If I select a part or duct and modify it, the change takes up to 30 seconds to complete. I have a 2.8G machine with 512Mb ram. Everything else works extremely quick except for the modifying. Does anyone having the same issue, or is there some setting I can change to get this to speed up?

It should be faster than that. How big of a drawing are we talking about?
Have you customized your catalog based content? Are you running with
interference detection on? Do you have a real time antivirus scanning your
content as it is queried? Do you have your search limited to just a few
items (say 100?).

guessing??

Jason,

The drawing is 13M, catalogs are standard, Duct interference is off, I have no virus software installed. I don't know what you mean by the search limit? The modify does seem to be faster in smaller drawings.

Hi Msestak -

13MB is getting fairly big, but it shouldn't take 30 seconds on that
machine. Are you working in 2Line display or Model display (assuming that
you are doing at least some work in 3D). If you are working in 3D model
display may be more efficient than 2Line display (even if it is "less"
pretty).

At which point during the fitting modify is the 30 second delay? After you
select the fitting, waiting for the dialog, or after you make modifications
and click OK or Apply?

Thanks!!

Jason,

I am working in 3D model. The delay occurs when I hit OK. It seems to work much faster in small drawings.
