Duct Information Incorrect for Ducts Higher than Wide

When I hover over a duct that is higher than wide and it shows me it's properties, the TOD & BOD are incorrect as if it thinks the width is always more. Duct labelling as a result is incorrect. How can I fix this?

Wow, that's what I call a bug! Can you raise a support request on it?

I replicated the error and had a good rummage around in the Style Manager. Definitely a bug. See JPG (slow day for me!)

The Label Curves for the duct sizes are OK because they are reading from 'Object Properties' rather than a proper Property Set such as DuctObject. So maybe a fix is possible. Edited by: StevenWood5910 on Feb 12, 2009 2:36 PM

Until then, Fudge it!

I agree, but to be fair, how often is it likely to be a problem? Personally, I would only resort to short runs of tall skinny duct sizes where nothing else would work. Just remember not to try and label the height of that segment, except perhaps with a bit of dumb text. Vertical space is generally far more limited than horizontal space in voids, plantrooms etc.

You'll always want the next version 🙂

A bigger problem for me was Bottom of Duct labels that INCLUDED INSULATION in their calculations! What is the point of that? Duct is generally installed first and then insulated. Luckily, you can edit the expression in the Style Manager and delete the 'insulation thickness' variable.

It also sucks they've been aware of this since the beginning of MEP09s
lifecycle and it wasn't fixed in the service packs. This problem also
means duct labeling cannot be done through property sets.
