dissimilar system connect preference

I need to connect steam and condensate pipes. In order to do that, I need to
change connect preference. Hepl system exhaustively tells me how to do that,
except where that thing is located in the menu systems. Cannot find it.
Period.
Anybody to help?

Hi Slawomir -

There are a couple different ways to do this.

1. Edit your connector styles so that they no longer check for systems as a
"connection rule". To do that go to Desktop -> Style Manager then navigate
to Connector Styles, and in this case select the pipe connector style. On
the rules tab select the system entry and click the Always connect radio
button.

2. (I think this is the better option, but YMMV). If the steam and
condensate piping systems are part of the same system group they will pass
the connector test. To make them part of the same system group go to
Mechanical -> Mechanical Systems -> Piping System Definitions and double
click Steam. On the Design Rules tab take a look at the System Group
dropdown. If this has nothing in it you can simply add a system group of
STEAM, then do the same for the condensate system (in other words add the
STEAM system group to the condensate system definition). If there is an
entry already in these you need to be careful what you select as it make
affect the connection of some other items that may be part of the same
system group, but the goal is to make the steam and condensate system
definitions part of the same system group.
