Custom Size Property

Hi,

Is there a property that can be set up in an automatically attached style
based property set to determine if a part is a standard catalog part or a
custom sized part? If yes what is the property name?

Thanks,

Shane

O.K.

I found it "Custom" but, is there a way to determine which parameter in the
part size is setting the "Custom" property and then return that parameter
name in a schedule?

Thanks,

Shane

Hi Shane,

For mvParts, ducts, pipes, cable trays, conduit, and associated fittings,
there is a parameter added at runtime which tracks if a custom size has been
added to a part. If you choose a part from the catalog this value is always
false (not a custom size). If you reply 'yes' to one of the prompts asking
if you want to create a custom size, because the size is not found, this
parameter is set to true (yes, this is a custom size).

The automatic property "Custom" reads and reports this parameters. The
intended usage for scheduling purposes is to use the automatic "Custom"
property which finds and reports the internal customSize parameter value.

If you need the actual parameter name, I believe it is "CSP".

Hi Craig,

Thanks for the reply. I am coming to the conclusion that the program
probably will not do what I am attempting.

I tried the parameter name "CSP" but it returns the same value as the
automatic parameter "Custom". (True or False)

I was actually trying to retrieve the name of the parameter(s) that caused
the "custom" parameter to be set in the first place. In the case of one of
our hoods we could schedule these values and it would draw attention to
anything that is not standard for that particular model prior to
manufacturing.

Thanks
Shane
