Connectors on Block Based Part?

I'm in the procss of creating an MvPart of a base mounted inline Horizontal Split Case Pump. I've modeled it in 3d and added points where I want to create connections. I then select the whole model, including the points and make it a block. I then create the part in content builder. When I go to place the connectors on the part, by right-clicking on the specfic instance of the connector for the part size and selecting "edit connector". I then go back to model space to select the connector locations. The problem is that my part is nowhere to be found. I zoom all the way out and pan all around and cannot find my part to place the connectors on. My points that I had created with the part aren't there either. Of course the help documentation is no help here, so has anybody else had this experience??

Hi Kyle -

Would you mind posting the source drawing that you are using to create the
MvParts to customer files. I'll take a look and see if I can figure out
what's going on.

Was there ever any resolution to this post? I am having the same problem, and have been told by a 3rd party vendor that it is because my block was not created at 0,0,0- problem is, the block is at the origin!

Thanks

The origin should be 0,0,0. Regardless of where you originally defined the
origin. If you made the origin something other than 0,0,0 initially, you
need to make it 0,0,0 and move your geometry to match.

Ok- same guy, different screename-

I am saying i drew block at 0,0,0, and its not showing up when I try to add a connector. Sorry I was unclear before- the 3rd party vendors comment was irrelevant.

I tried to add a conector to a different part, and it worked, so I used snaps. I tried with this part, and it doesnt show up, so I had to hard input it with coordinates- what may cause that?

Thanks,

Paul

The block's geometry is not showing up?

And we are supposed to fix the car without you bringing it to the garage?
Please post the drawing.

I have been working with block based MVParts extensively for a few months now.

I ran into the same problem. You dont want to be in the file that content builder is using when creating new MVParts. You also do not want to be in a blank/new file.

I have found that making a "working" copy of the source drawing is the best route. Do all your 3d modeling & block creation in the working file then copy the block definitions into the real copy. close the real copy and open the content builder from your working copy. When you are placing the connectors it will have a block to reference.

Did that make any sense?

Yeah, that does make sense- I'll try that out later this afternoon, and let you know how it goes.
