Can you link different floors?

I was watching a revit tutorial online and it looked like revit allows the user to import arch backgrounds drawn 2d in autocad and link them together into one model. Is it possible to link multiple floors into a common model in autocad MEP? If I want to see how my duct or piping looks from roof to lower floors, is this all connected in autocad MEP the way it is in revit?

I am surprised that no one else has answered this yet.

While a Revit model is contained in one file, an Autodesk project is usually contained across many files.  You can bring these files together using Xref's and view the relevant portion of your model in its entirety.  If you are modeling a fairly large and complex building I would not recommend bring everything into one model to view it as it will probably bring your computer to a sudden stop.
