I am using AutoCad MEP 2010 on windows 7 64bit OS. Every time I try to draw a cable tray with mep's cable tray or try to relocate the cable tray i always get a fatal error and AutoCad shuts down.
This probably not much help, but I have to figure your problem is local with your computer. I have the same software (MEP 2010 and Win7 64) and I have no issues with cable tray or anything else.
There is a known issue that Autodesk is aware of with Windows 7 64 bit and the properties palette in AutoCAD MEP 2010. The workaround is to use the CableTrayModify to edit until this issue is addressed.
You can always verify compatibility for both hardware and software concerns at the Microsoft Windows 7 Compatibility Center available here: http://bit.ly/1gW6Ns
