Blue Squares Alongside Crosshairs

Does anyone know what thease blue squares signify? And how to get rid of them. Thanks in advance.

They indicate that "Selection Cycling" is turned on. That enables you to click on something and cycle through "stacked objects".
To turn it off, click on the icon with a cursor and a green square below the command line.
