Hey folks -
As you all probably expected, we are soon releasing a version of Autodesk
Building Systems that is based on AutoCAD 2004. For more information,
check
here:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=3204272
Our goals for the new release are as follows:
- Make ABS 2004 perform better than ABS 3 by taking advantage of new,
smaller file formats, new graphics engines, and new scheduling abilities
of
ADT 2004.
- Complete features initiated by ABS 3 (suggested layout paths extended
to
all objects, circuit overloads in circuit manager, etc.)
- Complete the content creation story of creating and sharing content
(calculators and viewers in content builder, ABS native i-drop).
- Provide 3D Plumbing, Fire Protection, and UK Content.
- Provide tutorials for all features including content builder.
- Fix as many bugs and limitations identified by you and our own internal
Q/A as possible
Thanks to the many of you who have contributed in our ABS 2004 beta
program!

Hi Mike, I
will post the tutorials when they are ready. However, any associated
dwgs will be in ABS 2004 format. We
highly recommend that you maintain the ABS subscription. Since its
initial launch in September 2001, ABS has been on a quick release cycle
- 4 releases in 18 months. Even if you skip a release or two, subscription
is still the cheaper alternative than the upgrade...
