2 issues: (1) Panel Schedule will not retotalize loads in new DF table, (2) C

(1) I've followed instructions per concepts guide, chapter 9, but I cannot
get the Demand Factor Definition Table to determine load breakdowns other
than "standard" category (ie, won't totalize lighting or power system
types). It worked for initial table, but regneration of table (after erasing
all 3 tables) will not bring back the addtional category summations. Is this
a VBA application, and if so, how can I get at it to debug?

(2) While all circuits have been suitably reassigned outside of circuit
manager, the circuit manager stills show original system assignations. How
can I get at the definition table? (Is it an xml table? If so, where is it?)

Hi Dave,

(1) The load should be totalized in the panel schedule per Demand Factor
used on the circuits or devices connected to the panel. If the Load Category
table only show load for the Standard demand factor you should check the
demand factors on the circuits and devices. If the table is not created at
all you have to remove the "main" table (or all 3 tables) and create a panel
schedule again for the panel. (Normally you don't have to erase the panel
schedule tables when updating it, just run the Panel Schedule tool again and
it will update the existing tables.) Yes it is a VBA application; type
VBAIDE on the AutoCAD command line to start the VBA editor/debugger.

(2). I'm not sure I understand your problem here.What do you mean by
"reassigned the circuits"; have you changes system on the wires, device
and/or device connector? The system on the circuit is matched with the
system on a device connector when you assign a circuit to a device
connector. They don't be the same; if one of them is or if they
belong to the same system group they will match. The system on a wire is
matched with the system on a device connector when you draw a wire. You
should not be able to change system on a wire to a system not matching the
device connector. Summary: System on device connectors and circuits are
optional and used for checking that the right circuit is used for the right
device. Changing System on a wire or device connector does not automatically
change system on a circuit.

Hey Bo,

Thanks for responding. Here's the clarifications:

(1) Per Concepts Guide (pg 503), I'm supposed to delete the old panel
schedule whenever I need to update for a change (although from your message,
I get the sense that deleting the panel schedules is no longer a
requirement). The 1st time I ran the panel schedule tool it worked like a
charm. After erasing and then adding new, for some reason the Demand Factor
Definiton Table refused to show the categories other than Standard (although
they still existed for such categories as lighting and recpticles). Several
tries to erase and create again yield the same results. To get around this
problem (and to add in calculations for wire and conduit), I'm using the
Excel option. I'm interested in the VBA route. Is there a listing of
predefined VBA modules (along with file locations and variable definitions)
included with Building Systems, and is there a future module list?

(2) My problem is that the circuit manager wouldn't update to show system
changes (say for example from 208V power to 208V lighting) even though the
circuit devices and wire on a individual drawing component query do indicate
the changes. My guess is that the circuit manager's table is not updating
(and circuit manager won't allow for this type of editing). I imagine I
could brute force by erasing the circuits and devices and starting over, but
this seems like a waste of time.

Hi Dave -

It is recommended that you do not delete the panel schedule. The panel
schedule application will read the data from the existing panel schedule
block and update it.

Are the demand factors applied to the circuits on the panel?

Circuit manager isn't supposed to show changes on a circuit when the system
on a device changes. The system on a devcie is used only to set the layer of
the device. Systems on connectors and circuits are used to control the
interconnection of the devices (what is allowed and not allowed to connect).

If you don't want to use the system on the circuit and connector to contol
connections, then don't worry about the systems on them. Leave them as
undefined. The systems on connectors and circuits are made to control
connection of items only. Example: You're working on a project with
emergency and normal power systems. When you are adding devices to the
drawing, set the system on the CONNECTOR of the items that you want to put
on the emergency system on a system called emergency. When you create your
circuits set the system according to what panel they are on (emergency or
normal). Then when you are connecting things you won't be allowed to connect
items from the emergency system to panels on the normal system.
