modifying text and style

i am new to ABS, and the people that have used it here don't have any answers. i am drawing ductwork and going to "add label". it continues to give me a standard style at 12" high, even though i have formatted text at top menu to RomanS and 9". and...i am not able to pick up and move the text once it's placed. i am really stumped. can someone help me????

Create a text style with the font and height set. Specify this text
style in the label style. This should solve the problem.

To move text, select is so the grip shows. Grab the grip and move the
label. Notice it only moves along the duct. If you want to move it
outside the duct, press the Ctrl key and it will release the tag to be
moved freely.

It says at the command promt... press CTRL to toggle location. What this
means is press CTRL will toggle between free floating text you can place
anywhere and anchored text to the duct. Press CTRL once and see if you can
move the label around freely.

Label styles are found in pull downs format>style manager>documentation
objects>label curve styles.

Change the scale popup thing-me-bob bottom right will vary the label text
size to suit the scale you plan to publish your drawing.

Not a detailed answer but maybe you can figure it out now.
