Even after closing AutoCAD and Excel, Microsoft Excel may continue running in the background if something is copied and pasted from Excel.
Any suggestion?

I've had this happen as well, when using OLE option for copy/pasting excel schedules. Once it is placed on the sheet, if you were to make edits by going "OLE/Open" to the excel file, edit/save/close in excel, Excel stays running in the background. If someone else goes to open that same OLE object to edit, it will read-only to the person whom originally opened the OLE to edit. Was very frustrating with multiple users accessing panel schedules sheets then leaving office for day and others could not access. Many times, we would have to open read-only, make needed updates to schedule then use saveas to essentially replace the link on the Autocad sheet smh.
We hadn't found a solution other than force closing/end-task of excel after closing the sheet in Autocad and everyone abiding by it.
