Duct centerlines

OK, I need some help here as a newbie.

I am drawing basic 2 line ducts in both round and rectangular. I only want
centerlines on the round duct and fittings with a different lineweight and
color. I can change one through overrides but it changes both or one section
at a time. What am I doing wrong? Need more information?

This is similar to question raised 9/14/07 except dealing with both in same
drawing.

Hi Robin -

Have you tried the Center Line Display settings in 2008 (Options dialog, MEP Display Control tab)? You can enable center line display for duct and fittings based on shape (individual selections for Round, Rectangular, Oval, and Multi-Shape).

Hello
I have the simillar problem - I need to turn off centerlines for rectngular ducts. I managed to turn them off in Options->MEP Display Control tab, but it only works for Plan-view. In Model-view they are still visible. Does anyone know how to turn off centerlines for rectangular ducts in Model-view ?
thanks
Andrzej

I found the walkaround... you have to set the layer of centerline to some not printable or frozen layer in Display Tab in properties palette for selected objects. Maybe it will be helpful for somebody.

That is not really the autocad mep way to do it.  You can go into the system definition and turn off the centerline in the display options which will turn it off for all ducts that use that system.  You can also go into your display manager and go to duct objects and turn it off there.  There is quite a few places to turn it on/off at.  I am not at a machine that has AutoCAD MEP on it but I will be later this evening and will upload a video showing the process.

Hi
Thank you for the answer. I tried those options as well
(in Display Manager-> Representatoions by Object-> Duct
and also in Style Manager->HVAC Objects-> Duct system definitions)
but the point is to have centerlines visible only for round ducts and no centerlines for rectangular ducts. This is usually a standard in many companies in hvac industry. While designing in autocad mep it doesnt matter to have them visible but we need not to show them on printouts.
That's why for now I found only that walkaround but I know its probably not the most professional way to achieve that.
