Hi,
We have a user who's AuotCAD Mech will crash consistently when certain message prompts are called. An example would be if an SHX file is missing from a drawing. The normal prompt would display saying do you wish to replace the font files but his machine will have a blank unresponsive black box. I check the task manager and see a single core is sat at 100% (13% on his quad core), with no increase in memory usage.
I have tried everything I can think of to eliminate the issue. Clean install of AutoCAD M, remove and install gfx driver (different versions), update direct x, different user profile (in Windows), different profile (In ACAD M). The machine is running XP Pro 32bit.
I think it must be something as OS level which is causing an issue in AutoCAD. Has anybody experienced this before? If so please help me as I am not at the stage of a full system rebuild.
Thanks
Guy

Hi Guy,
Does it show any error message?
Are you requested to send an error report to Autodesk? Which email addres do you inform in the error report so that I can find it in our database?
Does the issue onlyy happen with certain drawings? Are they free from corruption?
Do you get the same message if you log in as a new local administrator of the machine (and do not migrate custom settings from a previous version, if asked)?
Cheers,
Luciane

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply. In the end I push the machine for a rebuild. It resolved the issue and I am non the wiser as to what caused it. I couldn't send an error report at the machine would hang with a single core at 100% but the autocad process not changing (memory stayed the same). It came to having to kill the process to do anything else so no error report available.
Cheers,
Guy
Thanks for the update, glad to know the program is working now.
