Standard field in BOM changed in 2012.

Granted I am going based off of what I saw clear back in 2008, but the STANDARD field in the the BOM changed from Height X Width to Height X Width - Length.  So if I am choosing a flat steel shape of 2 X 8 and want it 10.125 long, the standard use to be 2 X 8.  But now I am seeing 2 X 8 - 10.125.  Where do I change this format at?  I want it back to the way it was.

You could follow below steps:

1, edit the steel shapes in Content Editor

2, unhide STDRT_1 column

3, edit the STDRT_1 column properties as below screenshot, Mapping Component properties to be User1

4, save and close editor

5, click Bom and setting button, and set value of User1 to be =<USER1>

6,  then you could see the User1 colum in the BOM is as what you want.

I would like to keep my template consistent with what I have.  Is there another way?  What is interesting is if you look in the Family Table the STDRT is what I want, but when it shows in teh BOM it has the - length behind it.  See Screen Shots.

The reason for this is because:

Steel Shapes Component Properties Mapping

When inserting the JIS Lip Channel Steel and JIS Gas Pipe standard parts, the BOM component properties mapping should adhere to below,

  • <Symbol of Grade> is mapped to the MATERIAL
  • Length is mapped to the dim
  • Mass is mapped to MASS  (Mass is added in the Family Table)
  • <Part Type Description> is mapped to DESCR.
  • <Standard Name> - <Part Size Specification> is mapped to STANDARD.
  • <Part Type Description> <Standard Name> - <Part Size Specification> is mapped to NAME.

You could modify the mapping rule.

It seems like no matter how I try to modify it, nothing changes.  Can you give me more specifics?
