my client has a few autocad mechanicals 2011 to 2014 and few normal autocad's 2010 to 2015. When he's making .dwg with autocad mechanical containing "mechanical" objects, when he opens the file in normal autocad, he can't see those objects, no mater what ersion of the software. Is in normal, does he always have to explode the drawings, to worka autocad mechanical with normal autocad?
Has your client set up his "save as" settings in Mechanical to save the drawings as an AutoCad dwg (as opposed to the default setting of the drawing being saved as a AutoCAD Mechanical dwg)?
No need to explode Mechanical objects. I don't recommend saving all Mechanical drawings as vanilla to suit Vanilla users. This procedure makes editing the Mechanical content impossible for you. Always keep Mechanical drawings, Mechanical. SAVEAS a Vanilla drawing to send to someone else. Or tell Vanilla user to just allow proxy and they will show. But they/you can't go back to Mechanical after Vanilla AutoCAD opens it. Even when opening in Mechanical.
