paste to WORD-monochrome entities?

We frequently copy & paste portions of a drawing into WORD for change notices. On ACAD14, you could change all entities to monochrome before copying so that all colors (yellow) could be visible in WORD. I can temporarily change the colors to black but the blocks and attributes don't change. Is there a way in ACAD Mech to do this?
Thank you.

Best thing to do (rather than changing the colours in AutoCAD) is :-

Paste into word as normal, then edit the image (I think you can just double
click it ) and set it's brightness to 0

This makes everything black (but the background stays white)

Thank you Rory but...
I did exactly what you wrote but everything green, yellow and lighter colors turn white. Only the dark colors..blue, red, black turn black. Another idea?
