Mechanical 2011, how to stop linetypes / textstyles added when opening drawing?

I am using Mechanical 2011 and am still contstantly having problems with drawings needing recovery.  Nobody seems to have an answer yet.  I have installed the latest video driver and no change.

I have done some investigation and it seems the problem is usually caused by the linetypes and text styles that are automatically added every time a drawing is opened.  If you purge the drawing before saving, it goes away a lot of the time (but not all of the time).

Is there any way to make Mechanical 2011 stop adding these into every drawing every time you open it?  We don't use any of these linetypes or styles anyway.  It's looking like it would cut down on a lot of the recovery errors if we could disable these "adders".
