Hi all,
i'm currently working with Inventor 2011 & Acad 2011 with Vault 2012.
We have prepared an authomatized (in vault job processor) ACAD add in that:
-opens the dwg (both invenotr & acad generated)
-reads from the titleblocks
- prints the DWG to TIff
I have no problems with property in ACAD dwg title blocks, but when I have to open the Inventor DWG that uses custom iProperties in titleblock ACAD doesnt present me the iProp values! If I open the same dwg with inventor I'm able to see it with the correct values.
How can I try to make ACAD accept correct values from Custom iProperties?
Thanks
RR
Hello,
Those custom properties from Inventor should appear in the Cutom tab of Drawing Properties dialog in AutoCAD. (COMMAND: DWGPROPS)
So if you use those custom properties there in AutoCAD, you should get the corrected vaules from Inventor.
Let me know if you still have more concerns.
Hi Michael,
thanks for your answer.
Indeed using the DWGPROPS command I'm able to see that my custom iProperties have the right values, but I cannot see these values in my titleblock.
In my inventor DWG templates we have "mapped" our custom iProperties to have them showed in the titleblock area.
As you can see from my images in invetor everything is ok, but in ACAD i retrieve wrong values.
Regards
Riccardo
Hello Riccardo,
Thanks for sharing your sample drawing.
I have tried it in AutoCAD Mechanical and I can see the values not updated correctly. so I open the drawing in inventor and resave it to either inventor dwg or acad dwg. Then open them in AutoCAD Mechanical again, I could see those values updated correctly. Can you please do the same and see if they are updated or not?
Hi Michael,
thanks for your answer & help.
I tried to do as you suggested and saving the DWG again with inventor and reopen it with autocad works correctly.
My problem is that these files (inventor DWG) comes from Vault WG 2012 and I've prepared a procedure (using jobserver) that starting from my DWG and using ACAD 2011 ADD IN create a visualization file .tif from them
If only I could find a command or a way to have the same result using autocad to resave the file it would be good indeed!
I've to admit I'm not an expert with ACAD.
