It has happened that my scale areas just stopped working... and it's practically THE reason to have acad Mechanical in the first place 😞
In AutoCAD Mechanical 2014 SP1, Windows 7, 64 bit, model space... on a recent install (got a new lt a week ago)
- I click scale area
- I get asked for first point
- I get asked for second point
- I get a red box in Model space
- cursor changes to arrow
- I wait a loooong while
- I press esc and end up with a red box, no scale area.
Filedia etc are all on 1, I tried alt-space, m etc, I just can't get any form of input into the scale area.
Help would be highly appreciated... I can't deal with regular old AutoAD viewports any more... they're messy and don't work as nicely parametrically. 🙂

I'll have to add that I can actually do a mview in paperspace
- then get the scale area interface that allows me to assign a "border"
- which I can link to the scale area red rectangle
But the model to paper functionality is actually that which is "le raison d'etre" of Mechanical 🙂
I reset my AutoCAD to defaults using the handy shortcut in my start menu, reapplied the company customisations and it's all working fine again.
When/if ever I find out what caused it, I'll share that info.
