File Opening & Closing Issues with AutoCAD Mechanical 2011

I have encountered a couple of problems with AutoCAD Mechanical 2011, I've looked everywhere and can't find any resolution.

1. AutoCAD will not allow you to do the EXIT command, unless all files have already been closed.

2. When opening a file in AutoCAD, it brings your 1st drawing up to the top instead of the one you selected. The file is open but you then have to switch to it.

Any suggestions would be helpful.
