Failure to open more than 1 drawing at a time

I had several error reports pop up every time I tried to do something in Mechanical like this one. Also my workspaces disappeared then after trying to redo them they reappeared. My IT guy ran several sweeps and came up with no errors so he downloaded the service pack and it no longer is crashing but I can only open one drawing at a time. If I open the file outside of AutoCAD it opens Mechanical once for every drawing I try to open. any help would be appreciated. Running Autodesk Product Design Suite 2012 problem with Mechanical 2012 SP2

Please check if FILEDIA =1 and CMDDIA=1 is set.

If you can only open one file at a time check your SDI setting.

SDI  multiple file open, at command line type SDI 1 or 0
