Exchange Host Error

"Failed to launch Exchange Host application" Does this have something to do with not finding the local installed help file?  Has anyone else seen this?

-See attached image for full error message

I think you are having firewall problems with your internet connection blocking Adesk products and services. Specifically Plant Exchange and your online HELP access.

What happens when you go here http://autocad.autodesk.com/  and sign in, then try to access exchange?

Turn off your firewall or if someone else is in charge have them allow access to Adesk then try to bring up HELP and Exchange. I really don't think your problems are connected to AutoCAD.

Hi Winks87,

In addition to what steve216586 suggested, please download the attached files and replace the existing ones. Please make sure that you backup the existing files:

  • AcBrowserHost.exe should be put in the following file path:
    C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2013\AdExchange

  • AcHelp2.exe should be put in the following file path:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared

The path you supplied:

AcBrowserHost.exe should be put in the following file path:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2013\AdExchange

WhereI found it:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2013\AdlmRes\AdExchange

Is this path incorrect?  Would this be why I was having errors?

I booted up Autocad - It loaded ok but I'm getting the "program is running in background wheel thingy" (the little blue wheel by your cursor that tells you something is running...)

Its all good.  I reinstalled the help files - I dont think they installed correctly the last time.  I also updated the files sent to me and changed the file paths to make Autocad happy.  Everything works with no errors.

Thanks for the help!
