There are several AutoCAD drawings that when I open I get an error saying that the drawing is a Mechanical Desktop drawing (probably becuse the drawing border was created in Mcad). How can I get rid of the error?
Have you tried passing them through DWG Trueview. I have'nt tried this myself as I do not come across Mechanical desktop DWG files. May be worth a try?.
To be honest... download DraftSight. It is free and ignores the differences in DWGs that Autodesk creates. Open the file in DS, save it, continue in AutoCAD.
It's the only way I've had any luck using Mechanical Desktop DWG files.
