In this YouTube tutorial author is converted surface into solid when drawing Bolt.

I wish to know why first author creates a surface model then converted into solid model in making BOLT, instead of straight away going to solid model.

Following is the link.

I didn't watch the video - but my guess is simply that they don't know how to use AutoCAD.

I ask author he gave me answer, but I couldn’t understand it. See whether you can understand it. Screenshot is attached.

Frequently new features are added to improve the AutoCAD drawing. Please see whether which one is more accurate in making NUT and BOLT (Tutorial 4 Threads or YouTube one). Your help is important to me.

I no longer use AutoCAD for mechanical design (3D).

I recommend that you invest your time in learing Autodesk Inventor or Autodesk Fusion 360.

Same as Ford and Chevrolet (or whatever car manufacturers are in your country).

Essentially no difference - just different companies.  If you can drive one - you should be able to drive the other.

Thank you for your explanation.

From next week my college begins to teach Autodesk Inventor.

In job ads some companies ask for Autodesk Inventor and other companies ask for SolidWorks. I wish to know if I learn Autodesk Inventor whether it is possible to apply for jobs requesting knowledge of SolidWorks as well.
