delete button won't erase

Hello,

I don't know what I did, but my delete button will not erase in AutoCAD Mechanical anymore. I used to be able to select geometry and hit the delete button and it would erase the lines out of the model space. Does anyone know how to change this setting?

I did try to set up a keyboard shortcut, but "DELETE" is not a valid input.

I did a repair on AutoCAD, but nothing changed. I don't think there is a problem with AutoCAD, I think a setting got changed somewhere.

Thanks for any help.

Make sure PICKFIRST is set to 1 and try if it's gone.

Thanks.

Thank you and good job. This was the issue and you solved it for me. I didn't even know about this command! (nor how I changed it?)

I just had to do this - out of the blue, erase and delete stopped working, after working for hours without intentionally changing ANY settings...  autocad 2015.

but thanks!  "pickfirst" was the answer.
