Are these 2 platforms not interchangeable?
I thought that they were. now when I save a DX file, the older 2004 will not save. It gives an error that Mechanical Desktop functions are disabled. I'm not using MDT at all.

AutoCAD Mechanical 2004 and AutoCAD Mechanical 2004 DX are not
interchangeable. Files saved in DX will not be editable in 2004.
