close command

When I try to hit the close command, I get the following message in the command line.

'close Command CLOSE is not available under SDI mode'

I cannot even close with the x in the corner. I have to exit out of AutoCad and restart.

Hi,
Set SDI system variable value to 0

Command:SDI
Enter new value for SDI <1>: 0

Thanks,

That worked. Thank you.

Just curious, what is SDI system variable?

SDI stands for Single Document Interface. If the value is set to 1, only one drawing can be opened at a time. If 0, then it is multiple document interface.
