Circle question

I have had our customer supply dxf files for a project we are cutting for them, and have a question on the best way to remove some lines. I've attached one of their dxf files, and inside each circle, there are two lines, a horizontal and vertical. Is there any way to remove/turn off these lines besides erasing each one? The guy that programs the laser says these lines mess with his program. Thank you so much for your help.

Well, I'll be.

I'm sure I had attached a dxf file.

I'll try again, but it really doesn't matter now.

I've gone through all their dxf files and erased each line.

With everything being set to the same layer, not blocked, and none of the center marks appear to be associated with a particular dim style, I'm not sure there's anything that can be done here.

That's what I thought, but I was hoping there was some setting somewhere, that I knew nothing about, that would remove any geometry inside other geometry.

Thanks for taking a look at it.

Please follow this steps could be delete these vertical and horizontal lines a little quickly.

1, create a new layer, e.g. ERASE, only turn on layer 5-8

2, use QSELECT command, object type=line, properties= layer= 5-8 to choose all lines group

3, change these lines layer from 5-8 to ERASE from properties

4, turn off other layers, unless ERASER

5, circle choose all lines, then erase them.

you could see recording at this screencast and result at the attachment

If you are only wanting to display certain unique entities, (such as circles only), you can use the following method to isolate them.

1. create a layer for the lines you don't want.

2. select a line

3. use the command SELECTSIMILAR - all lines will highlight as "selected"

4. place them on the layer you created by using the layer pulldown menu.

5. turn off or freeze that layer.

Only the circles should appear in drawing. The lines are not erased nor has the drawing integrity been corrupted.

SELECTSIMILAR does not care layer or color, only what type of entity is chosen.

Glad I could select two replies as the solution to the problem I was having because they both worked perfectly.

I thank both of your for helping me with the.

Even though this job has already gone to the shop, I regurlarly recieve drawings from them like that one, so this will be a huge time saver in the future.

Thanks again for your help.
