Can't uncheck 'Enable Mech Structure'

How come I can't clear the checkbox: 'Enable Structure' in the 'AM:
Structure' tab of the Options dialog?

I have erased everything in the drawing, purged all, and with the Mechanical
Browser displayed, there is nothing in it!

I am working in the custom template drawing.

Thanks,
Jim Shipley

I believe once you've enabled structure in a drawing, you can't disable it. If you want structure disabled, you have to do it in a fresh, new, drawing.

Save as AutoCAD/Mechanical 2002 or below. Structure is not available then.

Hi,

Before any structure objects are created, the "Enable Mechanical Structure"
checkbox (2006 and below) can be checked/unchecked. However, after structure
has been initialized, usually by creating structure data, the checkbox will
be greyed out and cannot be unchecked thereafter. This is to prevent losing
structure data.

When you save as a lower version like AutoCAD Mechanical 2002, the structure
data will be saved to geometry automatically. When opened in 2002, the
drawing will be shown with the exact geometry, except without structure.
There is no need to remove the structure data manually.
