Can't figure out how to resize block

I have never used AutoCad before today but am somewhat familiar with SolidWorks. I have been trying for 2 hours to resize a block in the attached drawing (the one with the dashed line) to make it wider. In Solid I would just click the line and drag the endpoint. I have tried sketch and scale and nothing works. Thanks!

You can use the SCALE command to make things bigger. type scale, select a base point and your away 🙂
