CAD is extremely laggy and keeps freezing using less than 20% CPU

Using CAD Mechanical to draw a 3D model of my companies facility and I can't move the drawing without having to wait 20 seconds for it to come back up.

Yesterday it crashed on me 6 times.

The computer has a dual AMD6000 processor and 12 gigs of ram. It is acting like it won't use the full potential of the computer beacause it only goes to about 20% CPU usage and 3 gigs of RAM used.

Does anyone have a solution to make use of the CPU and RAM the computer has?? I don't understand why it wouldn't use the full potential of the computer.

Thanks!

I've had problems like this as well with with only a couple dozen elements on the screen.  In my case these issues were graphics related. Get an approved driver.  I followed the tips in this article and things are running pretty smoothly when I have to use ACAD: http://blogs.rand.com/support/2011/02/why-is-my-cursor-very-slow-or-jumpy-in-autocad.html.  Gool Luck.
