Blast from the past...

I have a few part models that I made back in May of 2000 using Mechanical Desktop, release 3 maybe?  I need to migrate these files to a more current version that I can at least measure using Autocad or Inventor in order to re-create them.  Since they open up as only proxy objects I cant snap to anything to measure them. Inventor won't convert them since they are pre-MDT6 files.  HELP!  can someone tell me what my options are?

thanks, Allen

I have discovered that although Inventor will not import the MDT models it will open them and allow measuring of line lengths and distance between lines.  This should give me what I need for now.

AutoCAD Mechanical is not MDT.

What version of Inventor are you running?

Have you downloaded MDT 2009?
